Chin Augmentation

How does your chin match up? A man's chin should ideally extend to the edge of his lower lip or even a bit beyond.
Chin Implant

Chin implants can alter the way the face looks. But what exactly is involved in the procedure and what is the ideal size for a chin?

Ideal chin positions for women are 1 - 2mm behind the furthest projection of the lower lip – a look that enhances their femininity.

But for men, the chin should meet the furthest projection of the lower lip or even be slightly ahead of it. This provides a more 'manly' or square jawed effect.

This is just a guide, however, and should be adjusted on a case by case basis to take into account the nose measurements and cheeks to ensure that the face isn't thrown 'off Balance' by a too dramatic alteration.

There are a number of ways that Chin augmentations are performed. Most commonly an incision is made on the inside of the mouth inside the bottom lip and a silicone strip is added just above the chin bone.

A similar result can be achieved by cutting the chin bone and repositioning the chin. This procedure is considered more invasive and requires more time to heal.
